So, what am I working on? What will I be working on? That's what this thread is for.
Playtesting continues to go well. If you want to get involved, check out this thread.
The meta is getting close to being ready for an initial release, so right now I'm mostly focused on stuff that needs to be there for that first release -- menus and server browser, bugs, etc. Things that weren't required to playtest the gameplay, but people expect when they are actually playing a live game.
Once it's ready, the plan is to open it up to the public in small early access waves. The first wave will probably be very small -- no more than 100 people. These waves will continue to expand as development continues and I think the game is ready for an expanded audience (at which point I'll bring it to Steam Early Access).
Why do it this way? First impressions are important to players and I don't want to waste them by releasing too early. I'll start with players that are more comfortable with games in early development and expand from there. The feedback from these early players will help shape the game as development continues. As a small indie dev, I'm going to be relying a lot on all of you to make this game the best it can be
(will edit in a more detailed forecast later -- specific features etc)
I'll try my best to keep this post updated so you know what I'm working on. To avoid having the first replies be unrelated to what is currently in an updated OP, this thread is locked -- if you want to discuss the development forecast, feel free to start a new thread!
Current Priorities:
- Stability (bugs, usability)
- Solid meta
- Onboarding (new player experience, learning the game)
- Improved visuals
