Typical Racing Loadout Guide

If you're anything like me racing is probably the most hype part of Arms Of Telos, swinging around trying to get the best time. Thus, I have compiled this quick loadout guide so you can start to race easily.

Racing Loadout:

• Teleport Blade - Use the alt fire to improve your speed, This is generally the weapon you're going to have out if you're not accelerating.

• Grapple - Use to gain speed in gravity and to change your direction in Zero G.

• Speed gate - Place directly in front of the spawn tube (or directly behind the starting checkpoint) for an easy 290 KM/H, remember that speed gates stay even after you restart the race.

The Rocket Launcher may also be used to gain speed on straights; it incurs soft damage, so there is a limit, but even just getting a few well timed blasts directly behind you, you can get you from 200 to around 350, from what I remember.

The TB spam is a bit of a cheaty way to get over the straights, but speed > distance travelled. Its greatest use is changes in height as it's harder to do that with a jump - TB has far greater reach.. so try using it on the last point, in the base asteroid, on the bridge to zap up there and take that flag while retaining all speed!

I feel like I should chime in -- the grapple is absolutely fantastic for gaining speed. You can use it to convert both your jumps and falls to horizontal speed. Furthermore, as horizontal/vertical boost sare decoupled indoors, you can use boosting to instantly give you a large chunk of vertical speed (which can be quickly converted with the grapple). The price in soft damage is quite high, so try to use boost conversions when you are far from the action to give sufficient time to recover (or when chasing a fleeing capper, and aren't likely to get shot).
