@JustinPierce has mentioned that he wishes to keep updating the map as meta and the game itself comes into.. fullness.
He has mentioned that the old mid section was much more compact, leading to great contrast between 0g and normalg, and that the first flag (primary) stage was longer when the mid section was more 'cluttered'. So, he wants to try and elongate that first stage a little and I think improve contrast there.
(feel free to correct me).
Here's what the old mid looked like, for reference:
First thought I had to potentially improve the first point was to simply add a window:
Very simple concept - it increases visibility for defenders, allowing them to prepare for incoming mechs more easily, thus giving the defender a little advantage.. it does of course mean attackers could spot shields, but that increases tactical diversity, right?
Anyhow, asked to make a thread with it so here it is
EDIT: Since this has been moved to feature request, I will just say that this was made on a whim. Adding a window does not solve a problem, only a small element that may help the situation. We're looking to give greater contrast to the mid section from the 0g sections, so the mid will likely change shape somewhat to enable that - this window may or may not be correct under the new design. Thought it would be interesting to see what it would look like though - I wouldn't mind having it whether the mid design changes or not to be honest.
